You may be wondering why an “ordinary guy” like me is contemplating a run for high office, so I’ll try to explain. I’m just so sick of the lies and deceit and hypocrisy coming out of Washington, D.C. that I have decided to “be the change”. As a 9-1-1 dispatcher in Detroit, I’ve learned to recognize B.S. when I hear it, and I’m hearing a lot of it coming from our elected officials lately. I’m no Rhodes Scholar, but I can read and understand the Constitution and the Bill of Rights – and that’s more than I can say about many of the sanctimonious buffoons in our nation’s capitol !
I’ve worked in law enforcement, off and on, for most of my adult life. I’ve served in the military (USAF), and have worked with charities. I’ve lived in Texas and Michigan, mostly, so I’ve got a good feel for the problems that our nation faces. That said, I am neither liberal nor conservative – I am an independent thinker, and I’m mad as hell. I’m mad that our elected officials are systematically destroying the greatest sovereign nation ever conceived by man – our United States of America.
What this country needs, more than ever, is more statesmen and women, and fewer professional politicians. We need folks that have read and understand and believe in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and are willing to stand on the principles and speak their minds. We need less government, not more.
Our founding fathers were wise beyond their years, and their wisdom is no less relevant today than it was some 234 years ago. If you believe, as I do, that it is time to take our country back then I’ll hope you’ll join me in this fight. If I do commit to run for office, my opponent will attack my reputation, my lack of experience, my integrity, and anything else they can dredge up to muddy the electoral waters. Politics is a full contact sport, but I will march into that pit of vipers if it means taking back my country from the special interests.
I don’t really want to go to Washington per se. I have no aspirations of becoming a politician as it is currently defined. My offices will be in my home state, and I will answer my own phone whenever possible, even if it means staying after hours to do paperwork and research. I really don’t want to spend any more time than necessary in Washington, since it may require frequent showering. I do not want the “benefits for life” bestowed upon Senators and Congress – I want to serve. You’ll not catch me in a limousine or a private jet, either – if I need to travel I’ll drive my Jeep or fly commercial (coach, like everyone else). You see, I’m a real person, and I know what it’s like to work hard for a living and have to give up a large chunk of your income to fund our dysfunctional Federal government.
If you love your country, but fear your government, the time has come to take back your nation ! Won’t you consider joining me as we fight the good fight ?
